Basildon SEIT   South Essex islamic Trust has a sizeable striving Muslim population but the facilities to service it are quite inadequate. We have been renting halls upon halls over the years for Jumma’ah prayers/ Eid prayers. Our children are maturing before our eyes and they are faced with the same gloomy future we are currently experiencing i.e no place of worship we can call our own. How long can we continue to wonder in this wilderness? What legacy do we want to leave behind for generations to come. The time to act is now. The idea has been conceived in our minds for years, we need a Culture Center in South East, Insha Allah with firm believe and perseverance we can achieve our dream. We are in the process of finding a land /plot near the Muslim community residence and  big enough to be self- contained with ample parking so as not to inconvenience our neighbours. SEIT‘s primary goals has been to create an environment of love and affection between various ethnic groups by providing our community members Islamic Values through education, and social events. We would like to see members of our community play a leading role in making this cultural centre project a reality. We should also be actively participating in Youth programmes and working with various ethnic groups of our area irrespective of differences in cast, creed or colour. We believe that this could best be achieved by continuous spiritual enhancement of the young, the old and the children through regular prayers, education, lectures, and library facilities. Establishment of a cultural centre is considered as the first step to achieve these high lofted objectives. We have to have a place we could get together; meet each other, think and explore areas of cooperation in various economic and social activities.   SOUTH ESSEX ISLAMIC TRUST Made by SEIT
